Pilots
Project implementation involves testing the validity of the AI-Enhanced Deliberation Framework in real-world environments. Four pilots in Greece, Italy, Germany, and internationally will test the Framework in action, tackling real-world challenges like drafting laws, planning for climate change, enhancing smart cities, and addressing Long Covid impacts

The Bamberg pilot will explore two citizen participation models—top-down using the Consul platform and bottom-up with a new, locally-tailored engagement platform—both enhanced with AI features to improve deliberation and citizen involvement.
Objectives:
Top-Down Participation (Consul Platform):
- Test AI tools, to reduce misinformation in municipal dialogues.
- Evaluate AI’s ability to create an evidence-based foundation for discussions.
- Explore AI’s role in enhancing the legitimacy and transparency of top-down participation.
Bottom-Up Participation (New Engagement Platform):
- Implement AI to promote more inclusive and proactive citizen involvement.
- Assess AI’s impact on platform engagement and user attraction.
- Test AI applications to bridge the digital divide in small-scale local networks.
- Collaborate with ongoing projects to integrate AI4Deliberation results into the new platform.
